About RTF to PDF

RTF to PDF parses the RTF spec — font tables, stylesheets, page setup, paragraph styles, tables, and \pict embedded images — and renders a clean PDF with real selectable text and embedded images. Heading levels from the stylesheet map to PDF heading colors automatically.

Works on RTF generated by Word, WordPad, Pages, LibreOffice, and TextEdit. Inherent destination groups (fonttbl, info, footnotes, fldinst, etc.) are skipped so the body content stays clean.

Privacy

Frequently asked questions

Short answers to the questions people most often ask about RTF to PDF. Read the one that matches your situation — they're written to be skimmed.

1Are images embedded in RTF preserved?
Yes. PNG and JPEG bytes inside \pict are decoded and embedded into the PDF at their original quality. WMF metafiles are decoded via System.Drawing on Windows.
2Are tables preserved?
Yes. Row and column structure from \trowd / \cellx / \row is reconstructed in the PDF, including per-cell background colors from \clcbpat.
